St. Martin’s Faculty Enhance Student Outcomes Through Vertical Curriculum Mapping
Powerful learning experiences do not happen by chance. They are the result of intentional instructional design and rigorous alignment. During our recent Faculty Professional Development Day, the St. Martin’s campus was a hub of professional inquiry and growth. Our Pre-K through 12th-grade faculty engaged in deep vertical curriculum mapping, a sophisticated process that serves as the strategic GPS for our students’ educational journey.
This high-level alignment ensures that the transition from one grade level to the next is seamless and cumulative. We are not simply deciding what to teach in the short term; we are plotting an educational trajectory that connects a student’s first day of school to their graduation. By analyzing these learning pathways, our expert educators can tailor the curriculum to individual student needs, ensuring every child is consistently challenged to grow and thrive.
We love seeing our students explore their interests and see where those curiosities lead. This systematic approach to curriculum ensures that as students pursue their passions, they are supported by a framework of academic excellence and cross-disciplinary connections.
In addition to our campus-wide mapping, St. Martin’s continues to serve as a center for global educational exchange. As a host site for the NAREA Winter Conference, our George Cottage faculty collaborated with international experts to further their expertise in early childhood pedagogy. This commitment to continuous professional growth ensures that the mission to help every student reach their full potential remains in full swing, even when the classrooms are quiet.
