Alumni Council & Class Agents

The St. Martin's Alumni Council and our Class Agent Program

The goal of the St. Martin’s Alumni Council is to connect, engage, cultivate, and sustain relationships with every student who attended St. Martin’s or who graduated from the school.  Through the assistance of the Alumni Coordinator, the Alumni Council, Class Agents and more representatives, those relationships will be leveraged to strengthen the friendships and the fundraising through a variety of events and programs organized throughout each year.  

The Alumni Council meets in person and via Zoom every other month, and Committees meet monthly and as needed to support alumni events and ongoing communications efforts. If you wish to join the Alumni Council, contact Alumni Council president Betsy Gayle Fox '82.

Similarly, the mission of the Class Agent Program at St. Martin’s Episcopal School is to keep alumni connected with the school, to increase alumni understanding of the current state of the school, and to advance alumni support of and participation in the ongoing efforts of the school. As alumni leaders and StM ambassadors, Class Agents can positively impact the lives of current and future students, fellow alumni, and the school community as a whole.  Even as our Alumni are hearing from their alma mater on a regular basis via the email newsletter, we know that it is the personal nature of class agents that makes them an influential, positive force. 

Our Class Agent share classmates' important news with the school, such as births, marriages, re-locations, promotions, awards, or family losses. They also maintain updated contact information for their class with the school. We also love it when our Class Agents share testimonials about the teachers or classes that had the strongest impact or influence on their trajectory, or share a favorite StM tradition.

Important Info for Class Agents

RESPONSIBILITIES OF OUR ALUMNI COUNCIL MEMBERS AND CLASS AGENTS:

1. Act as ambassadors for the school
2. Assist with fundraising, especially during the Annual Fund kickoff, Giving Tuesday, and GiveNOLA Day 
3. Promote and/or attend school events as possible, including open houses, the Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony, Homecoming, the Alumni Easter Egg Hunt, Alumni Weekend, Career Day, Senior Luncheon, etc.
4. Attend school sporting events and performing arts events
5. Encourage fellow Alumni! 
   • Encourage alumni to attend school events
   • Encourage alumni to donate (their finances and/or time)
   • Encourage alumni to actively support StM through social media and sharing 
6. Submit nominees for Martin de Tours, Hall of Fame, and Dorothy Porter awards
