Eighth Graders and Seniors Support Families Through Service Learning Toy Drive
December 2nd, 2025
Service learning is an essential part of the St. Martin’s Episcopal School experience, and on December 2, Eighth Grade students and Seniors brought that commitment to life through a meaningful toy drive benefiting Angels’ Place.
Students gathered on campus as donations were collected and prepared for pickup. When Mark Firmin from Angels’ Place arrived, he shared how the toys would bring comfort and joy to families whose children are facing life-threatening illnesses. As students helped load the car, many were moved by his words and the direct impact of their efforts.
The toy drive was one component of a larger service learning project undertaken by these students throughout the semester. Through hands-on service and reflection, students continue to deepen their understanding of compassion, responsibility, and the role they play in supporting others within the broader community.
