Fourth Graders Perform "The Jungle Book, Kids" in Solomon Theater
November 8th, 2024
The fourth grade Class of 2033 put on an amazing performance of The Jungle Book, Kids in front of fellow students, faculty, family, and friends in the Solomon Theater on November 7. The play, which was part of their Theatre class this fall, is designed to offer students a creative outlet where they can explore their talents in acting, singing, and dancing, all while gaining confidence and learning the value of teamwork.

Over the course of the trimester, students had the chance to perform in front of their peers, helping them build self-esteem and overcome stage fright. Musical theatre is a collaborative art form that requires students to work together, fostering a sense of community and teamwork. Through acting and singing, students have improved their verbal and non-verbal communication, which is vital in all areas of life. Students expressed themselves creatively through performance art, helping them think outside the box. Additionally, studies have shown that involvement in the arts can enhance academic performance, particularly in areas like reading comprehension and critical thinking.
Congratulations to our fourth graders! A special thank you goes out to Lynne Bordelon, Ed Demirer, Emma Massengale, Frances Roney, Susan Pendleton, Barbara Weaver, Martha Scott, Simone Duhon, and the Upper School technical theatre students.
