A lifetime of possibilities begins at St. Martin’s.
St. Martin's the foundation of a life-long journey. Here, our students feel at home while they step outside their comfort zone, try new things, and design their own path. St. Martin’s students graduate prepared not only for college, but to serve others, make an impact, and live a life of purpose.
Prepared
for Purpose
We place a high emphasis on student-centered interdisciplinary learning anchored in relevant connections to the real world. Our graduates are leaders across New Orleans and beyond that have helped to shape their communities in the fields of medicine, law, business, policy, real estate, education, politics, the arts, and more. St. Martin’s graduates are critical thinkers prepared not only for college, but for careers that are not yet imagined.

We care about our students as people
and we care about the people we help them become.
Our Episcopal identity guides how we educate and shape children through the development of strong moral and ethical values, compassion, and empathy in every student. We believe in respecting others, speaking honestly, offering kindness, and serving the community in celebration and worship of God.

DEON BROWN ’90
Systems Engineering Verification and Validation Lead at BWX Technologies
Deon Brown ’90 joined the St. Martin’s community as a sophomore, quickly discovering a school environment that prioritized both academic rigor and personal growth. Though he entered without the early childhood ties many of his classmates shared, Deon found a welcoming and inclusive campus where students were encouraged to connect across grade levels, try new things, and develop leadership through involvement. His participation in a variety of clubs allowed him to build lasting relationships and gain confidence in his place at St. Martin’s.
After graduating from St. Martin’s, Deon went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the University of Virginia and later a Master’s degree in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota. He now serves as the Systems Engineering Verification and Validation Lead at BWX Technologies, where he plays a vital role in the development and delivery of advanced nuclear and aerospace technologies.
Looking back, Deon credits St. Martin’s for helping him grow into the kind of leader who can adapt, collaborate, and thrive in high-stakes, future-forward industries. “The connections I made and the confidence I built at St. Martin’s set the foundation for everything that came after,” he shares. “It’s where I learned to take initiative, step outside my comfort zone, and become part of something bigger than myself.”
Deon’s story reflects the St. Martin’s promise: to prepare students not just for college, but for purpose, leadership, and lifelong success.

CHRISTINA VIAL COMER ’91
Choir Director, St. Martin's Episcopal School
Christina Vial Comer ’91 discovered her passion for performance on the St. Martin’s stage, and today, she nurtures that same spark in the next generation of Saints. Joining the St. Martin’s community in 8th grade, Christina quickly immersed herself in the performing arts, landing a lead role in Pirates of Penzance. Her involvement in choir and annual All-State Honor Choir selections solidified her commitment to music. Christina pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of the South, drawn by its Episcopal heritage and expansive natural setting, reminiscent of St. Martin’s Outdoor Education program. Initially on a pre-med track, she soon recognized her true calling in music. She earned a Master’s of Music and a postgraduate diploma in operatic performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. As a lyric soprano, Christina has graced stages in roles such as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Musetta in La Bohème, and has been a featured soloist in major works like Handel’s Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem. Returning to St. Martin’s in 2022 as the Choir Director for Middle and Upper Schools, Christina continues to enrich the school’s musical legacy. Under her leadership, the choirs have flourished, performing complex pieces and even opening for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she directs school musicals and mentors students in vocal performance. Christina’s journey reflects the enduring impact of a St. Martin’s education. “St. Martin’s provided a nurturing environment that encouraged me to explore and develop my talents,” she shares. “It’s a privilege to return and contribute to the same community that shaped my path.” Her story exemplifies the school’s commitment to cultivating individuals who are not only academically prepared but also inspired to lead with purpose and passion.

MARGOT CASTAING RAINOLD ’02
Owner and Designer, MDL Design
Margot Castaing Rainold ’02 is a creative force in New Orleans’ design and real estate scene, blending artistic vision with entrepreneurial drive—a journey that began during her 14 years at St. Martin’s Episcopal School. As a proud member of the 14-Year Club, Margot credits the school’s close-knit, faith-based community for shaping her values and nurturing her talents. She fondly recalls the strength of the English department, with teachers like Mr. Greg Williams and Mrs. Dianne Greer, and was particularly inspired by Dean Chuck Rivet’s Far East Studies class. Athletics also played a significant role in her development, with coaches Sue Edwards and Linda Trevino leaving a lasting impact—so much so that Margot continues to play tennis and has passed that passion on to her children.
Margot pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Art History at the University of Alabama, followed by studies in interior design at Delgado Community College. After gaining experience in residential construction, she earned her real estate license in 2014 and co-founded M&M Residential. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish Maison de Luca Design, LLC, where she offers custom interior design services that reflect her clients' unique visions.
Reflecting on her time at St. Martin’s, Margot shares, “When you’re at a place for so long, it shapes almost every part of you. I loved being part of this small community that is faith-based and all about service.
Margot’s journey exemplifies the St. Martin’s mission to cultivate individuals who are not only academically prepared but also inspired to lead lives of purpose and creativity.
