Aidan Molaison ’26 Receives Prestigious José Luís Baños Award
May 6th, 2025
St. Martin’s is proud to celebrate Aidan Molaison ’26, who was recently honored with the José Luís Baños Award for excellence in the Study of Spanish. The award, presented by the Sociedad Española de Nueva Orleans, recognizes outstanding achievement in Spanish language and cultural studies among high school students.
Aidan received the award during a beautiful Cervantes Day ceremony at the Academy of the Sacred Heart, where he was joined by his family and St. Martin’s Upper School Spanish Teacher, André LeBeau. The event highlighted the rich history of the “isleños”—descendants of settlers from the Canary Islands and southern Spain—who have contributed significantly to the cultural fabric of Louisiana.
In addition to a framed certificate, recipients were gifted a copy of Don Quijote de la Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes, widely regarded as the most influential work in the Spanish literary canon.
¡Felicidades, Aidan! We’re so proud of your achievement and dedication to language learning.
