Senior Kaden Forges Named 2025 Horatio Alger State Scholar; Headed to TCU This Fall

May 27th, 2025

St. Martin’s Episcopal School is proud to announce that Kaden Forges, son of Ms. Kimberly Collins of New Orleans and a member of the Class of 2025, has been selected as a 2025 Horatio Alger State Scholarship recipient. This prestigious honor is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional resilience, integrity, and a strong commitment to pursuing higher education despite facing personal adversity.

The Horatio Alger Association—one of the nation’s largest and most respected college scholarship programs—recognizes students who exemplify strength of character, determination, and a tireless work ethic—values that align deeply with the mission of St. Martin’s.

Among the most prestigious and generous college scholarships in the United States, the Horatio Alger Scholarship honors students who have overcome significant challenges while remaining committed to academic success and service to others. Each year, scholarships are granted at both the national and state levels to high school seniors who have faced and persevered through hardships such as poverty, family adversity, health issues, or other personal obstacles.

Forges, who came to St. Martin's from St. George's Episcopal School, will graduate this Thursday during St. Martin’s 75th Commencement Exercises. He will attend Texas Christian University this fall.
