Summer Care

In an effort to provide care for our returning StM students and StM faculty and staff children St. Martin’s is offering summer care (infants to children 10 years of age) beginning June 29th.

We have limited space and spots will fill quickly, so please don’t delay. Registration opened to the StM community on Friday, June 12.

A $50 deposit is required to reserve your child’s spot for Summer Care. (Please note that the deposit is non-refundable unless we are unable to proceed with StM Summer Care in July. In that case, all deposits will be refunded.) All fees are due by June 26. Cancellations made after June 26 are not eligible for refunds.

StM Summer Care, ages 4 to 10
StM Summer Care is for returning students and faculty children ages 4 to 10 years old. Our activities are designed to encourage social growth in areas such as teamwork, character, development, healthy sportsmanship, and positive competition. Each session will be filled with sports, arts, theater, yoga, water days, and STEM activities. A bag lunch and snacks will be provided, including a pizza party on Fridays! Children are encouraged to bring their own water bottles each day. Sign up for one weekly session or all five for flexible summer planning!

George Cottage Care, infants to 3 years
Throughout your child’s day in the George Cottage, our youngest campers will participate in numerous opportunities that develop and build on their social, emotional, verbal, and self-discovery skills. Small and large motor skills will be utilized through a variety of play opportunities indoors and outdoors. Children will maintain high levels of engagement through daily storytelling, music, movement, art, and hands-on exploration with our theme-based activities and units. A lunch and snacks will be provided, including a pizza party on Fridays! Children are encouraged to bring their own water bottles each day. Summer 2020 COVID-19 Procedures
We will make adjustments to our plan as circumstances demand, and as we receive additional guidance from health officials, government leaders, and the CDC. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. One week before your child is scheduled to attend camp, you will receive an email from our school nurse, Eileen Smilari, reviewing the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations that St. Martin’s will be following.

Group Size
StM Summer Care will maintain group size as recommended by federal, state, and local social distancing guidelines. Classes will include the same children and teachers throughout the week and will practice social distancing from other groups at all times. Each person in a class will have a personal space for belongings.

Arrival
Prior to drop-off each day, a trained staff member will take the student’s temperature using a non-contact thermometer, and ask the parent a series of questions. Students and staff will be required to wash hands upon entering the building and throughout the day: between every activity, after sneezing or coughing, and after using the restroom. Students will receive age-appropriate training from the StM Summer Care nurse on proper hand washing, coughing etiquette, and physical distancing.

Limited Traffic On Campus
There will be limited traffic on campus. No outside visitors will be allowed throughout the day. Parents will drop off and pick up in the Haring Road carpool line. No one will be able to walk their children into their classrooms. Late arrivals cannot be permitted after 9:15 a.m.

Facility Cleaning
Additional staff have been hired to disinfect high-touch surfaces, such as door handles, light switches, faucets, bathrooms, and toys and games throughout the StM Summer Care day. Additionally, our normal custodial crew will be on campus each evening to conduct a deep cleaning and disinfecting of all areas of campus.

Face Coverings
All staff members will be required to wear face masks when inside and social distancing is not possible, and while managing food operations, or cleaning and disinfecting. If outdoors, a face covering can be removed. Children under two years old will not wear face masks. Face coverings are optional for children over two years old.

Registration
If your child is currently enrolled at St.Martin’s you can register, beginning Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:00 a.m., by emailing Cathy Lesher at cathy.lesher@stmsaints.com.
