St. Martin’s students were lauded for their performances at the Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) Solo and Ensemble festival on April 5.
The Lower School Handbell Ensemble, under the direction of Music Teacher Peggy Fransen, received a 1-Superior, the highest rating possible. Members of the ensemble are Sawyer Adrience, Emerson Arensman, Ashley Gaspard, Patrick LaForge, Isabel Lovera, Seth Mayeux, Anisha Mitra, Cooper Odom, Violet Porche, Arthur Schott, Molly Stewart, Kaitlyn Tillery, Ian Todd and Reilly Velasquez.
Band Students also received the highest possible rating under the direction ofBand Teacher Matt Murray. The Lower and Middle School bands both received a rating of 1-Superior.
The Lower School Band members are Cole Angerer, Tristen Bartholomew, Manny Bejaran, Miles Chancellor, Chandler Chatagnier, Lenny Cline, Jack Collins, Carter Corsetti, Angelo Fassbender, Daniel Fink, Jack Flanagan, Dominic Hogan, Erin Johnson, Ethan Kann, Shep Kirchner, Kate Knight, Cole Lacoste, Cole LaCoste, Tucker Manning, Namratha Meka, Bennett Nettles, Andrew Perdomo, Carter Rigney, Carter Scheuermann, Bradford Slim, Will Sossaman, Jadon Troyer, Eamon Velasquez, and Anthony Zheng.
Middle School Band members are Luke Alvendia, Isabella Bartholomew, Clara Conatser, James Garvey, Justin Hall, Bohden Huwe, Ryan Johnson, Peyton Miller, Conner Nicoladis, Ricky Pickens, Kiley Salge, William Salvaggio, Colin Saucier, August Schmedtje, Elliot Schmedtje, Caroline Spiers, Samantha Thompson, and Andy Zhou.
Additionally several students gave highly-rated solo performances. Performances are rated on a scale of one through five; 1-Superior, 2-Excellent, 3-Good, 4-Fair, 5-Poor.

Students will give encore performances of many of these pieces at the St. Martin’s Performing Arts Department Spring Concert Tuesday, May 2, in the school’s Dan and Frances White Chapel.
