MS Cross Country Teams Place in Top 5 at Championship Meet
The Middle School cross country teams traveled to Audubon Park to participate in the NOAL Cross Country Championships on Oct. 23. Course conditions were sloppy and slow due to steady rain over the past two days, but the Saints gave a great effort with several students placing in the individual Top 10. The seventh and eighth grade boys team finished 3rd overall. The seventh and eighth grade girls team finished 4th overall in team scoring. Individual results are listed below.

Fifth and sixth grade girls (1.5-mile race)
Fifth grader Juliet W. was the race champion and earned a gold medal. She covered the course in 11:03.08. Sixth grader Hoang T. finished 12th and fifth grader Nia N. finished 28th. There were 63 athletes in this race.

Fifth and sixth grade boys (1.5-mile race)
Sixth grader Jack F. finished in second place, earning a silver medal, and Tristen Bartholomew finished third, earning a bronze medal. Fifth grader Chris Lawler and sixth grader Frankie Cusimano also represented St. Martin’s in this race. There were 103 competitors in this race.

Seventh and eighth grade girls (2-mile race)
Eighth grader Rian M. finished fourth overall in this race. Also in the top ten was seventh grader Kaitlyn H., with an eighth place finish. Both girls received medals for finishing in the top 10. Sixth grader Bellen D. finished close behind at 11th overall. Also representing St. Martin’s in this race were eighth graders Samantha T. and Maria C.  There were 67 competitors in this race.

Seventh and eighth grade boys (2-mile race)
The 7/8  boys team ran well as a group. St. Martin’s had three boys in the top fifteen. Leading the way for the Saints was eighth grader Randy D., placing fifth overall. Seventh grader Tommy G. came in seventh place. Both boys received a top ten medal for their excellent efforts. Eighth grader Justin H. finished in 13th place. Eighth graders Blake V. and Harris H.  were the other members of the scoring five. There were 104 athletes in this race.
