Middle School Student Selected for All State Choir
Fifth grade student Ella B. was selected for the 2017 Louisiana American Choral Directors Association All State Choir. A panel of judges chose her recording as one of the best from recordings submitted by students across the state of Louisiana. This is the second consecutive year Ella has been selected for the prestigious chorus.

Ella participated in a conference that included reading sessions, and interest sessions with All State conductors.The conference concluded with a performance on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the First Baptist Church of New Orleans. Students at the conference performed several pieces and received a standing ovation from the audience.

Dr. Susan Brumfield served as conductor for the group. Brumfield is currently the Professor of Music Education at Texas Tech University. She is known throughout the United States and Europe as a clinician, consultant, author, composer, arranger, and choral conductor. Brumfield is also in frequent demand as a commissioned composer and guest conductor.
The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is a nonprofit music-education organization, founded in 1959, whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research, and teaching.
