Arts Festival to Showcase Student Talent
To showcase students’ work from throughout the school year, the Visual Arts and Performing Arts Departments will host a Spring Arts Festival the week of May 2 - 8. Artwork will be on display for the entire week, for visitors who are unable to attend opening reception and events on May 2.

The Advanced Placement in Studio Art students will be showing their collection of works from this year. Please join us for coffee and pastries in the Merrick Visual Arts building, see the fabulous work, and talk to the talented young AP artists: Michael Gandolfi, Iris Hu, and Adam Pendleton.

Spring Arts Festival Opening Reception & Concert
Tuesday, May 2
Reception 5 - 7 p.m., Gibbs Family Center for Innovation + Design
Concert 7 p.m., Dan and Frances White Chapel

An opening reception will welcome guests in the Gibbs CID with light refreshments. Lower School artwork will be on display in the lobby of Saints Hall, Middle and Upper School artwork will be in the CID, and the AP Art Students will have work displayed in the Merrick Visual Arts Building. Two of the AP students’ artwork was featured in the 3rd Annual Statewide Juried Exhibition for High School Artists.

Immediately after the reception, the Spring Concert will be held in the Dan and Frances White Chapel at 7 p.m. Performances will include students of all ages from all of the musical ensembles at St. Martin's — bands, handbells, choirs, and soloists. The theme for the concert is "The Final Frontier."

Throughout the year the StM Performing Arts Department has received numerous accolades. Most recently, music students received praise from LMEA. Earlier this year the choir participated in the large ensemble festival, earning high marks. StM students received superior ratings at the LMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival for choirs. Several students were selected for the Louisiana American Choral Directors Association All State Choir this fall. Additionally, two middle school students were named to the LMEA District VI Honor Bands and two students were selected for the LMEA District VI Honor Choir.
