Choir Shines at the LMEA Large Ensemble Festival
St. Martin’s students earned high marks at the Louisiana Music Educators Association (LMEA) large ensemble festival on Friday, Mar. 24. The Lower School Choir received two excellent ratings in performance and a superior rating in sight reading. (Superior is the highest possible rating given by LMEA.) For this accomplishment, the Lower School group received a plaque.

The combined Upper/Middle School choir received a superior rating in performance and an excellent rating for sight reading. This group also received a plaque for its performance, and is eligible to move on to the regional/state festival.

Throughout the year the StM Performing Arts Department has received accolades. Most recently, StM students received superior ratings at the LMEA Solo and Ensemble Festival.Several students were selected for the Louisiana American Choral Directors Association All State Choir this fall. Two middle school students were named to the LMEA District VI Honor Bands and two students were selected for the LMEA District VI Honor Choir.
