Saints Honored at Athletic Awards Ceremony
Coaches came together with student-athletes and their parents for the winter Athletics Awards Ceremony in the Adkerson Gymnasium on March 15 to recognize outstanding athleticism in the winter sports for St. Martin’s. Those gathered listened to remarks from Athletic Director Frank Gendusa before awards were presented.

This season, St. Martin’s sent multiple teams to playoffs and many students were selected to LHSCA All-District, All-Academic, and All-State teams.  

All-District Girls’ Basketball:
1st Team: Kylar Coleman - District MVP
2nd Team: Jayden Coleman and Toi Robinson
Honorable Mention: Emerson Arensman and Lydia Greene

All-District Boys’ Basketball:
1st Team: Seth Mandella and Matt Weaver
Honorable Mention: Harlem Berry, Bryce Bohannan, Jophie LaForge, Matt Mannino, Cooper Odom, and Peyton Raines 

All-District Boys’ Soccer:
1st Team: Connor Mouille - Defensive MVP, Colin Saucier, and Reilly Velasquez
2nd Team: Randy Dunkin, Wyatt Powell, Carter Scheuermann, Eamon Velasquez, Blake Verdigets

All-State Indoor Track:
Kylar Coleman was Honorable Mention for the “MileSplit Louisiana Indoor All-State Track Team” in the women’s 60m Hurdles.

All-Academic Basketball:

All-Academic Indoor Track:

All-Academic Soccer:

Girls’ Basketball:
Most Valuable Player - Kylar Coleman - scored 1097 points
Most Improved Player - Toi Robinson

Boys’ Basketball:
Most Valuable Player - Matt Weaver
Most Improved Player - Seth Mandella 

Indoor Track:
Girls’ Most Valuable Player - Kylar Coleman - placed 3rd in 60m Hurdles at State
Girls’ Most Improved Player - Devyn McManus
Boys’ Most Valuable Player - Daniel Thompson
Boys’ Most Improved Player - Sam Schieffelin

Girls’ Soccer:
Most Valuable Player - Halle Bryan
Most Improved Player  - Katie Main

Boys’ Soccer:
Most Valuable Player - Reilly Velasquez
Most Improved Player - Charles DeRussy

StM’s Joe Mooty Award was also presented at the ceremony. This award is given annually to an underclassman who, through his attitude and work ethic, exhibits a love for the game of basketball. This successful young man shall now be known as a St. Martin’s “Gym Rat.” The recipient of this year’s Joe Mooty Award was Jophie LaForge.
