Harlem Berry, selected as the offensive player of the week

Last week, St. Martin’s freshman running back, Harlem Berry, was selected as the offensive player of the week. He is currently leading the state in rushing yards with 1,807 total yards. Berry has had an amazing start, with four 300+ rushing games so far this season.

Considering this is only Berry’s second season playing football, he was shocked when selected. StM is very proud of him and his accomplishments.

Berry gives credit to his coaches for giving him the chance to play and make carries. He also  gives thanks to his o-line and tight end for most of his success. “...If it weren’t for them upfront, I wouldn’t be able to make those cuts to get into the open field and work my magic.”

Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Frank Gendusa said, “Harlem possesses all of the qualities of a great running back: excellent vision, instinct, toughness, and speed. He is humble, extremely coachable, and respected by his teammates.”

This is only the beginning for Harlem Berry. We can’t wait to see what else he will accomplish during his time at StM.
