Cross Country Girls and Boys Teams are District Champions and Runners-up, Respectively
On a challenging City Park course on Friday, October 30, St. Martin’s girls’ and boys’ teams had great showings and were ultimately the District District 9-1A champions and runners-up for 2020, respectively.
It was a close, exciting event with just five points separating 1st and 2nd place. Leading the way for StM was the individual district girls’ champion, Isabella Bartholomew, with a time of 20:01.59 for the three-mile course. Also in the scoring five for St. Martin’s were: Rian McManus (3rd place), Kaitlyn Hall (4th place), Juliet Whitaker (7th place), and Nia Norton (10th place). Also representing St. Martin’s in this race were Lauren Bone (13th place) and Maria Cusimano (14th place).
Isabella Bartholomew, Rian McManus, Kaitlyn Hall, Juliet Whitaker, and Nia Norton were named to the 2020 District 9-1A Cross Country All-District Girls Team.
This very young squad posed tough competition on a challenging City Park course. Leading the way for St. Martin’s was Randy Dunkin covering the three-mile course in 18:01.75 for a 7th place finish. He was followed by Blake Verdigets, who finished 9th overall. Rounding out our top finishers was Tommy Garvey, who finished in 10th place.
Also representing StM in this race were Harris Huber (12th place), 8th grader Peyton Crosby (13th place), Daniel Thompson (14th place), and James Garvey (15th place).
Randolph Dunkin, Blake Verdigets, and Tommy Garvey were named to the 2020 District 9-1A Cross Country All-District Boys Team.
