Middle School Cross Country Gives a Strong Performance
St. Martin’s middle school cross-country teams traveled to Pontiff Playground to participate in the Country Day Pontiff Series on Wednesday, October 1.  Race conditions were excellent with sunny skies, moderate temperatures, and low humidity.
Girls 7th – 8th Grade
The middle school girls' team experienced an awesome afternoon of racing. The team finished first with a perfect score of 15! The St. Martin’s squad took places 1 thru 5. Leading the way with a first-place finish and a new lifetime personal record time was Juliet Whitaker with a time of 12:38.07 for the 2-mile course. She was followed by Meera Hijazi in second place with a time of 12:47.52. Coming in third was Nia Norton with a new personal best time of 13:33.47.

Juliet, Meera, and Nia received ribbons and t-shirt awards for their superb efforts. Next was Bellen Davis with a time of 14:29.00. Coming in fifth for the team was Devyn McManus with a time of 14:32.00. This was also a new lifetime personal record for Devyn.  
Boys 7th – 8th grade
The three members of the boys' middle school team performed well. The boys' division was split into two races due to COVID-19 restrictions. Peyton was race champion in the second race with a time 13:28.75. He was followed by Frankie Cusimano in second place with a time of 13:33.69.

Noah Hingel finished third with a time of 13:46.57. (a new lifetime personal best time for Noah)
All three boys received race ribbons and t-shirt awards for their excellent performances.

When the times from both races were combined, Peyton finished 5th, Frankie finished 6th and Noah finished 7th
