StM Students Earn Awards in No Place for Hate Art and Poetry Contest
Two StM students earned awards in The Anti-Defamation League’s No Place for Hate® art and poetry contest. Sixth grader Emmy Rabalais earned an honorable mention poetry award and fourth grader Brooke Jongblood earned an honorable mention art award.

The contest was open to students who attend school in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas. Students were encouraged to submit a work of art or a poem that best addresses the following prompt: “If you had a superpower, what would it be and how would you use it to help your community?”

Poems were judged on content, creativity, originality, organization, and correct grammar and spelling appropriate to the entrant’s grade level. Artwork was judged on originality, creativity, design, and interpretation of the theme appropriate to the entrant’s grade level.
