The 2019-20 school year officially started on Wednesday, August 14, with a half day for Lower, Middle, and Upper School students. This year’s student population of more than 600 includes 100 new students. In addition, more than a dozen new faculty and staff members
joined the St. Martin’s community this year.
Before the Lower School bell rang to signal the start of the day, students visited with their classmates, headed to their classrooms, and posed at the #stmfirstday photo booth filled with plenty of StM spirit. The photo booth will be available for photos again at the Saints Community Organization (SCO) Back to School Bash. (See below for more details about the #stmbtsbash.)
After the school bell, the school community gathered in the Dan and Frances White Chapel for a service. There was an atmosphere of excitement in the chapel as students filled the pews. Head of School Merry Sorrells addressed students, faculty, and staff, excited about this new school year. As a faith-based school, St. Martin’s gives all students regular opportunities to participate in chapel services throughout the school year.
As the school year begins, there are several upcoming events for parents and students to note on their calendars.
