Saints baseball earns post-season honors, Coach of the Year

Several members of the StM baseball team have earned All-District honors for the 2018 season. Named to the 1st Team All District are pitchers Barrett Shepherd and Caleb Laird. Laird also made the team as a utility player, as did Kolby McWilliams. Shepherd was named to the team again as an outfielder.

Several players were named to the second team as well. McWilliams was named again as 2nd team all-district pitcher. Ethan Everett was chosen as catcher for the team. Ben Bone was named outfielder for the 2nd team.

Coach Kit Laird was named District Coach of the Year.

The Saints were District Champions this season after earning big wins over district rivals West St. John, Houma Christian, and Varnado. The Saints were 20-12 for the season and finished 11th in the power ratings.

These athletes join other Saints who have earned all-district honors this year, including members of the boys basketball team, girls basketball team, girls and boys soccer teams, and volleyball team. Three cross country athletes were named to the All-Academic Award Program Composite Teams this fall.
