May 15, Week 9 Update
Dear Upper School Parents,
Booker T. Washington once famously said, “Excellence is to do a common thing in an uncommon way.” Going to classes, completing homework assignments, and taking assessments are common for students to do in school. However, these have been uncommon and extraordinary circumstances the last two months.
As most classes finished today and we begin to wrap up the school year, we have to commend our students on the excellence they have demonstrated throughout this time. They have been flexible, committed, and resilient. We thank them for their dedication, we thank you for your continued support, and we thank our incredible faculty for the excellence they have shown in moving their classrooms and learning online. This has been a truly collaborative effort, and we sincerely appreciate and thank everyone for their patience and perseverance.
Here are a couple of updates:
We are looking to schedule locker cleanout times for students. We have received numerous requests from students and parents about having an opportunity to come and retrieve items from their lockers. We are planning to create a staggered schedule that will allow students to come into school and clean out their lockers while following the social distancing guidelines in place. This will also be the time when we can collect state textbooks from students. We will communicate the specific dates and times for locker cleanout and book collection once we have finalized them.
AP exams will continue next week. AP exams started on Monday and will continue through the end of next week. As mentioned before, students in these classes have been informed by their teachers of the date, time, and format of each respective exam.
Our Virtual Art Show is now live. Our Fine Arts Department has worked very hard and done an incredible job in putting this show together. We sent the link for the program out earlier this morning, but we included it here as well. Please congratulate everyone involved in making this possible!
Fourth quarter grades and final report cards will be ready in early June. We will communicate with you once they are ready to be viewed in Whipple Hill. Thank you again for the great privilege of educating your children. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Together we are Saints,
