May 15, Week 9 Update

Middle School Parents,

What a bittersweet day it is - a final day of school like no other.  We’ve all had vastly different experiences throughout these past two months - no two households are the same, just like no child is exactly like another.  What has bound us together, however, are the friendships we’ve forged through our time together at St. Martin’s.  It’s the funny Facebook memes we share with each other, the simple texts asking how things are going, the promises of future celebrations in safer times.  We’ve been there for each other the entire way and I couldn’t have asked for a more loving community of parents, students, and teachers.

Some final notes and updates:

  • Any outstanding work must be turned in by Friday, May 22nd at 10 a.m.  Please remind your child to email teachers when turning in late assignments so that they know to look for them.

  • Because we are still accepting late work through next Friday, we will release our awards programs on Tuesday, May 26th.

  • Our summer communication with dress code, summer work, supply lists, etc. will be emailed out by the first week of June.

  • The guidelines for dropping off Chromebooks, chargers, books, etc., and for retrieving locker items was included in the weekly email.  Please read through them carefully and let me know if you have any questions.

I have shared this prayer many times before, but it’s one that continues to speak to my heart, so I turn to it once again.

Be at Peace

Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life;
rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise,
God, whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.

He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.
- Francis de Sales

Gratefully yours,

Jenny
