April 3, Week 3 Update

Dear Middle School Parents,

I know this has been a difficult time for all of us; this week being made even more difficult by the passing of Kim Sorrells.  It is in moments like these when we come together as a community of friends and family who support each other and help one another.

I have never been more proud to be part of St. Martin’s Episcopal School.

A few notes:
In addition to checking the school’s website for the latest news, I urge you to regularly visit the Middle School announcement page which includes student resources and some fun challenges from Mrs. Dieth’s Creative Corner.  Student Council will be added next week!

Please remember that next Thursday, April 9, is another PD day for our faculty. Students will not have any classes meet or any new assignments given. This leads us into our Easter break. We will resume classes on Monday, April 20.  Though I know many of you will be missing out on previously planned trips, I hope this week allows you to step away from the everyday demands of school and just focus on being together.

We will add more fun, creative challenges to the website for that week that are completely optional for you and your family.

Please visit StM’s COVID-19 page  for a list of tips from our technology department to help address some technological concerns you might have during this time of online learning.

We hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy, and we appreciate your continued support. Thank you again for the privilege of educating your children, and please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

A prayer to lead you into the weekend:

Loving God, Your desire is for our wholeness and well being.
We hold in tenderness and prayer the collective suffering of our world at this time.
We grieve precious lives lost and vulnerable lives threatened.
We ache for ourselves and our neighbors, standing before an uncertain future.
We pray: may love, not fear, go viral.
Inspire our leaders to discern and choose wisely, aligned with the common good.
Help us to practice social distancing and reveal to us new and creative ways to come together in spirit and in solidarity.
Call us to profound trust in your faithful presence,
You, the God who does not abandon.

Together we are Saints.

Jenny
