March 27, Week 2 Update

Dear Lower School Parents,
I hope this note finds you well. The faculty and I really miss seeing your children! Today marks the completion of two full weeks of our Continuing of Learning Plan (CLP) in action, and I am so proud of our Lower School families. Here at home, the Dieth family continues to strive to find balance. We are feeling more of a rhythm, but it is a work in progress for us. We are getting better with each passing day.
With thoughtful consideration of our community, St. Martin’s continues to examine our daily operations and make needed adjustments. As such, we are implementing a change with the activities posted by our amazing and creative teachers of “special” classes (Spanish, music, art, and religion). Effective immediately, all activities posted by special subject teachers will be available to you for the sole purpose of enriching and enhancing your child's educational experiences during our time away. Special subject class activities are optional.
Likewise, we are continuing to be purposeful by consolidating assignments and streamlining our expectations. I want to remind you that we are here to help. Teachers have been scheduling support via FaceTime (or some other platform) with students and their parents. We appreciate you partnering with us; we are here for you.
Lastly, I wanted to let you know that on Monday, March 30 and Thursday, April 9 our faculty will be busy participating in a school-wide professional development to discuss and evaluate our Distance Learning Plans. For you and your children, there will be no assigned work or expectation of work on those days. Be sure to check the StM website this week. Our Student Support Services team will be sharing various options for assisting your children during this time.  Please contact me if you need anything at all. Have a wonderful weekend! I look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can.
