To Alumni and Friends, March 22
I write this message to let you know we are thinking of you. These are unsettling times are for everyone and it’s important that you know you have the love and unwavering support of the St. Martin’s family. I pray especially for those who are on the frontlines of this historic crisis, and for those who have been directly impacted by this horrible virus.
Although campus is closed, I can assure you that St. Martin’s is still very much in session. Our faculty and administration have worked tirelessly these last few weeks on our Continuity of Learning Plan. And just a few days into the plan, our students, parents, faculty, and staff have all risen to the occasion, showing a level of planning, creativity, and hard work that we all can be proud of. Our approach to this situation is that faith, common sense, and forward thinking will guide our steps rather than the paralysis of fear.
Sadly, it has become clear that we must cancel the Spirits Party. During this unprecedented and uncertain time, we feel it is critical to adhere to the guidelines provided by our local, state, and national leadership and do everything we can to keep our community healthy and safe.
My commitment to you and to our students, faculty, staff, and families is that we will do everything we can to continue our mission to educate and support our students through Faith, Scholarship, and Service. Please be aware that all community-wide messages and updates regarding St. Martin’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak can be found at www.stmsaints.com.
As many of you know, the campus is my home, and it does not feel the same with our students and families gone. I cannot wait to have everyone return home to St. Martin’s. Until then, we are holding all of our alums, students, families, faculty and staff, and friends in our hearts. Stay well, and please know that we care about you.
Together we are Saints.
