Middle School Science Teacher

St. Martin’s Episcopal School is currently seeking an engaging Middle School Science Teacher who is intellectually curious, passionate, patient, and will inspire middle school students to explore and uncover the beauty of science within a challenging academic environment. This curriculum covers 7thgrade Life Science and 8th grade Physical Science.  This position will be for the 2019-2020 academic school year.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in science or a related discipline, but an advanced degree is preferred.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following capacities:
  • an extensive conceptual knowledge of science
  • a desire to help students develop reasoning, resilience and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • a deep interest in working in collaboration with colleagues
  • a commitment to continuing professional development
  • a willingness to reflect upon his/her growth as an educator
  • a desire to continue learning
Additional fundamentals of the position include, but are not limited to, an advisory role, weekly supervision duties, maintenance of organized and up-to-date student records, regular communication regarding student progress, and an active role in team planning, collaboration, and participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement.
