Administrative Assistant for the Upper School Office

This is a full-benefit, non-exempt position that reports to the Upper School Administrative team. The Upper School assistant is essential to the effective operation of the division.  Although supervision and guidance are furnished by the team, independent judgment is expected in the performance of job duties. Competitive candidates will demonstrate superior communication skills, technological competence, confidentiality, and a sincere interest in working closely with Upper School students, teachers, and parents.  The successful candidate will not only learn existing systems and structures quickly but will demonstrate resourcefulness by designing efficient support structures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate professional, consistently welcoming and joyful conduct in all communication and interactions with all constituents and community members
  • Greet and assist students, parents, and visitors
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Upper School
  • Maintain, record, and share attendance
  • Distribute email communication daily to students and as-needed to parents
  • Take and post minutes at divisional and other faculty meetings
  • Update and prepare division-specific information- handbooks, calendars, etc.
  • Answer phones
  • Maintain and order supplies as needed
  • Maintain current student records and files
  • Perform record keeping functions and maintenance as needed by the business office
  • Provide appropriate support and assistance for parent conferences, open house, special events, fire and lockdown drills, and ceremonies
Required: high school diploma, 3-5 years of office experience, preferably in the educational environment
