St. Martin’s international program started in January 2015. An English program designed especially for international students also provides them with an ELL (English Language Learner) Support Class, where they can get language help in all subjects. Now we have students from China, Honduras, South Korea, and Vietnam.
INNOVATION AND DESIGN
The Gibbs Family Center for Innovation + Design is a design studio, prototype lab, classroom, production studio, woodworking and build shop, and community partnership workspace. The new facility, opened in the Fall of 2016, has enabled teachers, students, and community members to explore the design thinking mindset and approach education with a 21st-century perspective.
STUDENT LEADERSHIP
St. Martin’s has shifted the paradigm of student leadership by deliberately sharing administrative power with high school students. Students are trusted and treated as equal partners in not just the learning process but in the functioning of the school itself.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
All students participate in annual community service days, designed and organized by student leaders. The majority of students participate in dedicated service experiences which exceed the 50-hour graduation requirement.
CAREER EXPLORATION
St. Martin’s offers a four-year career exploration program that includes job shadowing, college visits, guest speakers, and a two-week intensive off-campus internship that encourages community engagement and immerses students in workforce environments that reflect their interest.
ARTS AND ATHLETICS
More than 80% of students compete in at least one interscholastic sport. Students are also engaged in a variety of the arts from print-making, photography, sculpture, and design to concert hall, stage and screen.
