During Lower School art, students are exposed to a wide variety of art projects in the areas of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics and mixed media. Creativity is strongly emphasized while the students develop their skills and broaden their artistic vocabulary. Some projects are interdisciplinary and are inspired by what the students are learning in science, music or in the classroom. Other projects are inspired by the work of a particular artist. Each student displays one or two of his art works in a large Lower School art show held at the end of the year. |
