LS Summer Reading

St. Martin’s Lower School 2010 Summer Reading

Reading is too important to be confined to the school year; besides it's FUN!  Make sure that summertime for your child includes the pleasures of reading.  Listed are some excellent books on your child's reading level.  Here are some suggestions to help your child retain the reading fluency that he/she has gained during the school year:
Visit the library.    Encourage your child to make up stories and write them down.   Read aloud to your child.    Ask your child to read to younger children and to you.    Buy books for your child.       Pack books for vacation reading.    Set a good example.
