Project Adventure Parent Survey

Dear Saint Martin’s School Parents,

Perhaps you have heard about the new challenge course in the field house where Middle and Upper School students challenge and support one another to successfully pass through a ‘spider web’ or climb towards the ceiling while secured by safety equipment and their classmates. In the Lower School classrooms perhaps your have heard how students participate in community building activities and discussions that support their social development as well as academic studies. These are just a couple of ways that Project Adventure, an educational non-profit organization, is supporting St. Martin’s faculty and staff to equip students with critical social and emotional skills required for the 21st century.

To help measure the effectiveness of our work you are asked to complete a Preliminary Assessment Survey. This survey was created to collect your observations about factors affecting student behaviors and the quality of student learning at school. Along with follow-up surveys and interviews, it will help us to measure changes over time and the impact of Project Adventure on the St. Martin’s School. This information will in turn help the Saint Martin’s Project Adventure Steering Committee, comprised of several administrators and teachers, to make adjustments and continually improve the quality of the initiative.

This survey was created by Project Adventure. It draws on reliability tested questions developed by Education for the Future and the Coalition for Academic Social and Emotional Learning. Your specific responses to this survey will be kept strictly confidential. They will be available only to members of the Project Adventure evaluation team in Massachusetts. Specific responses will not be shared with the Saint Martin’s school faculty or staff.
