"We want students in the Upper School to become independent learners with the ability to think for themselves," says Michelle Scandurro, Head of the Upper School. In addition to a solid college preparatory program and Advanced Placement (AP) classes, St. Martin's offers a range of unusual offerings in the Upper School designed to prepare students for college-and life. Project Adventure; a highly respected Honor Council in which students render real decisions on real cases; and a series of engaging interdisciplinary courses, such as the Inca Unit, Freshman Shadow Day (shadowing professionals in New Orleans); Humanities; and Senior Leadership day, when seniors take over the roles of faculty and staff.
