The Guild of Fine Arts works with the St. Martins's art, drama and music departments to provide hands-on help for the school's fine arts events. STM parents, alumni, friends and family members all are invited to join. Whether it involves a drama production, handbell concert, art show or band performance, the GFA offers moral and volunteer support. Guild members can help build sets, paint scenery, sell play tickets or concessions, hunt for props, hang an art exhibit or simply sit back and enjoy the show. Funds raised by the organization's auxiliary, as well as suggested annual fine arts dues, have helped to purchase wish-list performing arts equipment, from a grand piano to high-tech sound equipment. The GFA's core mission is a more philosophical one: to build better awareness and appreciation of the fine and performing arts on a whole school level, and to help all STM students discover firsthand the benefits of learning through the arts. |
