THE RECOGNITION COMPANY WILL BE AT STM ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 23 AT 5:00PM IN THE SAINTS DEN TO MEASURE FOR LETTER JACKETS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO HALEY HOLCOMB FOR BEING SELECTED TO PLAY IN THE LHSAA HIGH SCHOOL ALL-STAR SOCCER GAME JULY 7 AT ULL.

Make no mistake: The St. Martin's School Saints thrive on winning. And they'll put in the time and the effort to beat every opponent in every sport every game. That said, our student-athletes understand that if they've done absolutely everything possible to be their best, then they've "won" in the best sense of that term. They also know that achieving excellence as a student in the classroom and as a citizen of the school matters just as much as the outcome of any game.

In athletics, as in all areas of the School, St. Martin's stresses the value of working together to achieve common goals. Strong bonds emerge when sharing pride in a teammate's well-run race or sorrow in a comeback fallen short. It's easier, somehow, to push farther and reach deeper when you know you're doing so not just for yourself but for those who share your team colors. The fruits of victory taste even sweeter when others sit at the table. Ask St. Martin's students to name their best friends and many will simply respond, "My teammates."

LHSAA SCHOLASTIC REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for the first semester of the school year, a student shall have earned at least six (6) units from the previous year, which shall be listed on the student's transcript and have earned at least a "C" average as determined by the Local Education Authority when considering all "graded" subjects.

To be eligible for the second semester of the school year, a student shall pass at least six (6) subjects from the first semester.  A senior attempting four units in the first semester must pass all four units to be eligible in the second semester.  Likewise, a senior attempting five units in the first semester must pass all five units, and a senior taking six or more units in the first semester must pass six units for second semester eligibility.

Determining Grade Point Averages:  The grade point average shall be determined by dividing the total number of subjects/units attempted toward graduation into the total number of grade points earned by a student.

1)  For the purpose of determining a student's GPA, the point value of each grade is as follows:  A=4 points, B=3 points, C=2 points, D= 1 point, F=0 points

2)  Do not round off numbers when computing a student's GPA.

Change in Scholastic Eligibility:  The date for change of eligibility status for the second semester shall be the seventh calendar day following the end of the grading period of the first semester.  A student shall then become eligible/ineligible for the second semester.

1)  A student who has been ineligible for the first semester because of the scholastic rule shall not become eligible for the second semester until the seventh calendar day following the end of the grading period of the first semester.

2)  A student who has become ineligible for the second semester shall remain eligible until the seventh calendar day following the end of the grading period of the first semester.

3)  EXCEPTION:  The official end of the grading period for schools that complete the first semester on the day immediately prior to the Christmas holidays shall be the first day that teachers officially return to school following the end of the holiday period.  On the next calendar day after that date, a student shall become immediately eligible/ineligible for the second semester.
