Guild of Fine Arts

The Guild of Fine Arts supports the school's art, drama, and music departmental programs. Guild members provide volunteer assistance at Fine Arts events. The organization aspires to raise awareness of all the Fine Arts programs offered at St. Martin's. Some of the projects that the Guild sponsors include assisting with drama productions and concerts featuring our choruses, handbells and band.  Parent and student volunteers help us build sets, paint scenery, prepare dinner for performers prior to drama productions and sell tickets and candy for the drama productions.

Contributions to the Guild of Fine Arts during the 2007-2008 school year allowed funding of more than $8,000 in wish list items for our Visual Arts, Band, Chorus, and Drama programs.   Some of these items include art videos, and a digital camera for Visual Arts, new keyboard/MIDI Controller, Studiophile Desktop Monitors for band and  musicians for the Upper School musical.

The Guild of Fine Arts was proud to host the first "Marty Awards" to celebrate upper school arts at St,. Martin's. The dessert reception was held on May 16  in Saints Hall. A special thank you to the teachers for their hard work in making this a fun evening for parents and students. The Guild looks forward to continuing this event for many years.

The 2008-2009 school year will bring many opportunities to support Fine Arts events.  We look forward to seeing our St. Martin's students thrive through participation in fall and spring theater productions, musical concerts, and art exhibits.   All parents are welcome to participate in the Guild of Fine Arts.  Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, in the Merrick Conference Room at 7:00 p.m.

Please join us in making this the best year possible. You may email the guild at stmgfa@yahoo.com with any questions or suggestions.

My Favorite Thing About St. Martin's

"My favorite thing about St. Martin's would have to be the teachers and how nice they are to us. They make learning fun and we are always happy to come into their classrooms."
Tia Schlesinger, 7th grade student
