Saints in Service is an auxiliary organization open to all individuals in the St. Martin's community who are interested in supporting service-learning activities and helping those in need. Currently, we see our mission and purpose as two-fold:
First, Saints in Service works with school chaplains and teachers in each division to facilitate community outreach projects which help students learn hands-on service to others. Often, we help with basic logistics, such as delivering collected items to the Good Shepherd School or to the United Churches of Algiers food pantry. We've also worked side-by-side with students at the Angels' Place Picnic and the Dragon Café homeless feeding ministry. Money raised from creating stepping stones in the Lower School helps purchase needed items for these organizations and many other projects.
Secondly, Saints in Service volunteers quietly provide support and care to families and individuals within our school community who are experiencing challenging situations, such as, a severe family illness or even the joyous birth of a new baby. Support is given in the form of meals delivered to homes, but may also include other helpful services. Please contact us at: saintsinservice@stmsaints.com or speak with a divisional contact if you think we can be helpful. If you would like to receive the Saints in Service e-mail communications, simply send an e-mail to: saintsinservice@stmsaints.com and we'll add you to the contact list.
